TEAM MEMBER (General Guidelines)

  • As a team member, you must show a sense of activeness and enthusiasm to engage with different kinds of content and responsibilities.
  • We understand that a day looks different for everyone, hence we offer flexibility. Your willingness and interest matters. 
  • You must provide ideas for the growth of the zine, regardless of your specific role.
  • There is a possibility for work of a different role to be delegated to you. You are allowed to take up certain tasks of another role/individual if the other member is unavailable and you have the bandwidth to work on it.
  • Acknowledge information, notices and updates. 
  • Regularity, responsibility, accountability, adherence to set policies and more are part and parcel of becoming a team member.
  • Since we are new, openness to possible changes in documentation and responsibilities is an essential quality we are looking for!

EDITOR (open to internship and training)

  • You may request training and intern role while filling out the application form!
  • As the editor, you must review, edit (grammar, vocabulary and line corrections, proofread, keep an eye for detail, check for plagiarism, maintain the essence of the writer’s words), provide feedback, discuss possible loopholes and queries with the Editor-in-Chief.
  • Your decision will narrow down submissions and content published for Main Issue submissions, General Issue Submissions and Social Media Content creation.
  • Your decision will look something like this: yes/no/maybe, followed by a short feedback you provide.
  • In case of a ‘maybe’, or conflicting decision making between two or more editors, the Editor-in-Chief will step in and take the final decision.
  • You must have a basic understanding of using Excel sheets, Word documents and Google Docs.
  • As an editor, you’d also be required to understand the organization’s management and operations briefly, as you’d be the next line of authority right after Founder/EIC. 
  • Prior experience is not mandatory.
  • Coordinate closely with the EIC, report progress, and actively participate in team discussions and meetings.

SOCIAL MEDIA LEAD (open to internship and training)

  • You may request training and intern role while filling out the application form!
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy to amplify zine awareness, engagement, and promotion across online and offline channels.
  • Plan and schedule social media content to maintain consistent branding, tone, and messaging that resonates with the zine's target audience and vision. 
  • Stay abreast of emerging industry trends, algorithms, and social media tools relevant to zine culture to optimize content strategy and maximize visibility.
  • Curate attention-catching content, including captions, posts, and creatives, aligning with the zine's aesthetic identity and captivating its audience.
  • Engage actively with followers through comments, messages, and interactions, fostering community dialogue and strengthening brand affinity.
  • Collaborate closely with the Graphic Designer and Team Lead to ideate and implement innovative approaches for enhancing the zine's social media presence and engagement.
  • Oversee and manage all social media channels pertinent to the zine, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Linktree, and other platforms.
  • Uphold ethical standards in social media management, ensuring content authenticity, respectfulness, and alignment with the zine's core values and policies. 
  • Experience is preferred, not mandatory.  
  • Familiarity with SEO principles, keyword research and Google Analytics, is preferred not mandatory.

THE ARTS

Since Art encompasses diverse traditional media, ranging from paintings, and sketches, to literature, graphic art, filmography and music, there are currently only a few sub-roles under ‘The Arts’ (to be expanded in due course of time).

GRAPHIC DESIGNER (open to internship and training)

  • You may request training and intern role while filling out the application form!
  • Collaborate with the Editor-in-Chief and Team Lead, to understand the zine's theme, tone, and aesthetic, and ensure designs align with ethical guidelines and the creative vision of the zine. 
  • Develop original, engaging, and creative drafts and final designs for zine covers, layouts, internal pages, websites, and social media platforms.
  • Create logos, branding materials, and other visual assets that reflect the identity of the zine.
  • Ensure consistency in design across all zine elements and platforms.
  • Experience is preferred, not mandatory. 
  • Familiarity with Canva, InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar graphic design software is preferred. 
  • Familiarity with working with zines, magazines, independent publications, or creative projects is preferred, not mandatory. 

PHOTOGRAPHER

  • You will be required to contribute to the Main Issue submissions, General Issue Submissions and Social Media Content creation.
  • There are high chances that your submission might be selected for the cover photo of Main Issues or General Submission Issues. 

THE MODERN PICASSO

  • You are encouraged to allow your creative juices to flow onto the paper or digital screens (not limited to any medium). 
  • You will be required to contribute to the Main Issue submissions, General Issue Submissions and Social Media Content creation.
  • There are high chances that your submission might be selected for the cover photo.

STAFF WRITER (open to internship and training)

  • You may request training and intern role while filling out the application form!
  • As the staff writer, you will be contributing your works in the form of poetry, prose and other formats (ones that you are familiar with). 
  • You will be required to contribute to the Main Issue submissions, General Issue Submissions and Social Media Content creation. 

HUMAN RESOURCES (open to internship and training)

  • You may request training and intern role while filling out the application form!
  • Managing internal communication for Tajurba - sending emails, responding to emails and more. 
  • Handling hiring procedures with the Founder and Advisor. 
  • Collaborating with the Legal Team and ensuring workspace safety and ethical management.
  • Handling onboarding and offboarding procedures. 
  • Experience is preferred.
